Washing
Wash your wig every 8–12 wears, or sooner if you use a lot of product.
- Gently detangle from the ends up with a wide-tooth comb.
- Soak in cool water with a sulphate-free shampoo. Do not rub or twist.
- Rinse, then apply conditioner from mid-length to ends—keep it away from the knots at the lace.
- Press out water with a towel and let it air dry on a wig stand.
Styling and heat
Because it is human hair, you can curl, straighten, and blow-dry your wig. Use a heat protectant and keep tools at 180 °C (350 °F) or lower. Too much heat dries the hair faster than it would on your own head, because a wig does not get natural oils from the scalp.
Storage
Store your wig on a stand or in its box, away from direct sunlight and heat. For travel, put it in a hair net and a silk or satin bag.
How long it lasts
With regular care, a human hair wig can last a year or more of frequent wear. Lifespan depends on how often you wear it, how much heat you use, and how you store it.
What to avoid
- Sleeping or swimming in your wig.
- Brushing when it is wet and tangled.
- Bleaching or dyeing at home—ask a professional stylist.
